REWIRING YOUR BRAIN SERIES PT. 1

"Neurons that fire together, wire together." Brain rewiring is a critical component of my brain health training, and from personal experience, rewiring my brain is the most profound thing I have done for my health thus far.

It is backed by science that our bodies can not tell the difference between an event that has already occurred and an event that is currently occurring. For example: If you lost your job three months ago, your body has saved the emotional and physical response to the incident that happened months ago. Your body can physically feel the same effects as if the event happened five minutes ago.

Humans are one of the only species that can upregulate our nervous system at any time with thought alone. Our ancestors required fight or flight for survival, but in our current society, our bodies are too often in a state of fight or flight.

Our cortisol levels are at all-time highs; our bodies and brains are in a constant and continual state of stress. Over time, this stressed stated will lead to physical decline and illness.

How do we change this? We have the incredible ability to rewire our thought patterns and, therefore, our brains through ANT therapy (more on this soon), meditation, and a change in mindset. It is possible to retrain the neurons in our mind to go from an immediate negative response (that is hard-wired) to a more thoughtful and positive response.
