BEAUTY Biohacking

I have been searching for the perfect products for years. I have spent tens of thousands of dollars, tested clean beauty, plant-powered, and medical-grade skincare, all in an effort to find the most effective, low toxin, and investment worth products. Here is what I have found to be the best. In some cases, I have a discount code that will offer you savings, but I assure you that I have only aligned with brands that I love and use.

Some of these suggestions are also in-office medical procedures that you will need to search your area for and read reviews in-depth before choosing a medical provider.

Also, a beneficial tool is the Think Dirty App. You can scan products right in the store and see their toxicity levels. Choose products in the green zone.

Skincare

I would like to preface this section with the understanding that no skincare product will give you clear and radiant skin if you don't start with taking care of the inside first. Your skin is your report card for internal health. If you are struggling with severe skin conditions, I recommend you work with a functional practitioner to get to the root cause. Your root cause could be anything ranging from food sensitivities to a gut imbalance.

Herbal Face Food - This is a game-changing product, and I don't take that statement lightly. This product changed the texture, glow and eliminated even hormonal breakouts. The company defines itself as a new category of skincare, "Medical Grade Plant Powered." The ingredients are clean yet potent. You feel the product working right away. I use this either on its own or under my retinol and Alitura gold serum. You should see results in 3 days. I use "The Serum" twice daily and "The Cure" several times a day as a spot treatment if a breakout does occur.

Alitura Naturals - I love many products in this line. It is natural, organic, uses active ingredients, and smells fantastic. I love their body lotion, pearl face cleanser, their cult-favorite mask that I do 1-2 times per week, and their gold serum. I use the gold serum before my red light therapy sessions to make the product penetrate even further. I also recommend their night cream and fragrances.

Shea Butter - Another option for a body cream is raw, organic, unrefined shea butter. I love slathering this on during the cold winter months. I purchase this at Whole Foods.

Retinol - Nightly or several times a week, I use SkinBetter retinol to increase cell turnover. Retinol is the "holy grail" of skincare. This is a medical-grade product, so it is not organic or all-natural, but I do believe that this company has some of the best retinol on the planet. This product does not cause the flaking or dryness stage that most every other retinol does.

Chapstick - Evanhealy. Organic and luxurious chapstick.

Sunscreen - I use mineral sunscreen on days that I will be exposed to the sun for more than 15 minutes. I also use it on my hands, chest, and neck. I use SkinBetter Mineral sunscreen (medical grade) in the compact instead of makeup, or Ilia tinted sunscreen as a 100% natural option.

Peptide Creme - I love the "Botox" like peptide from Infiniwell. previously Tailor-made. Peptides are innovative new products that I feel have great potential to maximize your skin and performance.  Shop Here. This is great for anti-aging.

Toothpaste + Oral Care

I start every day with my tongue scraper. Derived from ayurvedic practices, it removed the bacteria the builds up on your tongue overnight.

Toothpaste and mouthwashes can be toxic. It's essential to choose one with clean ingredients. For mouthwash, I recommend eliminating it entirely and instead try oil pulling with organic coconut oil for 5-10 minutes in the morning. You can habit stack with the oil swishing and do stretching or a gratitude practice to make the time go by faster.

I use Davids or Himalaya toothpaste.

Ozone water is also an effective method of destroying bacteria in the mouth. I ozonate water and swish a few times a week.

You can also use these pre-ozonated oils.

I like Cocofloss for dental floss. Flossing is super important for gum health.

Medical Treatments

PRP - Once a quarter for hair and skin. Platelet-rich plasma and microneedling for increased collagen, improved skin texture, and elasticity.

PRP + Exosomes - I recently had this treatment, and I am very happy with the results. This facial combines PRP or your own platelet-rich plasma and exosomes, which are extracellular stem cell material. I would recommend doing this once a year if your budget allows.

Deodorant

I have tried so many! I have sensitive skin so I can not use the options that have baking soda as the hero ingredient. The one that hits the marks for efficacy, smell, and application is the Neccesaire deodorant. It's mess-free and lasts all day.

I also like Living Libations, Poetic Pits.

Hair

I am working on thickening my hair around the front that is under stress due to wearing ponytails for the last ten years. For this I use the following two peptides from Tailormade.

Taylormade Duo Cosmetic Peptide - GHK-Cu, Zn-Thymulin PTD-DBM + Methyl Vanillate.

Prior to the application, I use a microneedling roller on the scalp to allow for deeper product penetration.

Shampoo - I switch between a stem cell shampoo (Ontogenyc) and Living Libations shampoo and conditioner.

Makeup

Tons of additives and chemicals are added to make up products. I use Kjaer Weiss mascara and lip liner, RMS beauty foundation, blush bronzer, and lipstick.

Biohacks For Better Skin

Nose Breathing

Symmetry is what defines textbook beauty. When you sleep, it is important that you breathe through your nose. If you are breathing through your mouth, it will cause facial asymmetries over time. To know if you are mouth breathing, use tape or a special mouth cover to ensure you are breathing through your nose.

Sleep Position + Pillow

Sleeping on your back is also best for better skin. I sleep on an organic silk pillow to minimize the friction if I toss and turn.

Mattress + Bedding

Mattresses can be filled with over six pounds of chemicals. Choose an organic mattress and bedding.

Red Light Therapy

In addition to being a supercharger for your Mitochondria, RLT also great for your skin, from reducing inflammation to fighting wrinkles and fine lines. RLT has also been found effective for hair regrowth. I do ten minutes daily after the shower. I use Koze Red Light. You can save with the code: Kayla …. https://kozehealth.com/Kayla

Gua Sha + Dry Brushing

I like to do this for relaxation and lymphatic drainage. Gusha on the face, dry brushing on the body. I like to dry brush right before a shower.

Water Filter

The water that you use in the shower is also important. Our skin is our largest organ and if we use chemical laden water in the shower then it can compromise our health, skin and hair. I use Aqua Bliss water filter.
